I play Smash Drums pretty regularly. It is one of those games that works just as well for a quick burst as it does for a longer session. It burns a decent amount of calories, especially if you really go for it, and the mix of built-in tracks and DLC keeps things fresh. With licensed songs from major bands across rock, pop, and metal, there is always something that fits your mood.

The drumming feels extremely polished. Compared to other VR drum games like Ragnarock or Paradiddle, Smash Drums sits comfortably alongside the best of them. It is responsive, fluid, and clearly tuned to feel good first and foremost. Hits register cleanly, timing feels fair, and the arcade focus makes it incredibly satisfying to play without demanding perfect technique.
Comfort & Bugs
Performance has been solid for a long time now. I have not encountered any bugs recently, and the game runs smoothly on both Quest 2 and Quest 3. There was an annoying issue a few versions ago where some players temporarily lost access to purchased DLC and had to reinstall the game to restore it, but that problem appears to be fully resolved. Since then, stability has been excellent.

The workout you get from Smash Drums depends entirely on how you play. If you gently tap along, it is fairly light. If you play like Animal from The Muppets, arms flying everywhere and completely losing yourself in the music, it will absolutely leave you sweating. I tend to play the latter way, and it consistently delivers a solid cardio session without feeling like forced exercise.
